Homework #2 (1) Give an account about how you implement technology in your daily practice (blog, 2-3 paragraphs).
On a daily basis I typically utilize technology in four main forms; my laptop, my tv, my cell phone and my car. My Macbook Pro and the internet I use with it are an integral part of my daily practice, from the moment I wake up in the morning until the moment I fall asleep I really on them. It serves as my alarm clock by using the app Mornings, it serves as a main form of communication through facebook and ichat, it serves as my primary source of news and celebrity and fashion gossip, through google it is the answer to my every question and at night I fall asleep to movies streaming on netflix. Although I primarily use my computer for news, entertainment and communication I also use it on a daily basis to work in the Adobe Suite. I often use Photoshop at my internship, and Indesign and Illustrator for many school or personal projects.
My TV is not only for entertainment, I use it to create a relaxed environment in my apartment. I often keep it on while cooking, cleaning and doing homework because I find that it is easy to focus on tasks when I hear the quiet mumbling of the tv. I love watching shows and movies as well. My cell phone on the other hand I do not use with as much adoration and do not use it compulsively, yet find it to be something that is simply necessary. People need to be able to contact me when I am on the go, and I am always on the go so it is practical. I enjoy the games on it and the fact that I can use the internet on it, and enjoy my itunes account on it but I am not one of those people that are obsessed with their phone.
Lastly I am obsessed with driving my car, I find it to be the most soothing activity I have ever engaged in besides painting and wheel throwing. Sitting in the drivers seat and driving while listening to music on the radio is my bliss. I find that I do my best thinking while driving, and find that when I go extended periods of time without driving I miss it, to me my car is not a means of transportation, it is a happy, creative thinking place.
